West Rock Adopt-a-Crag Clean Up - April 30th

Calling all volunteers for a day of service with RMF and the Access Fund at West Rock in New Haven, CT. We’ll have both light and heavy-duty tasks and projects.


When: Sunday, April 30th — 10am.

Where: Amhryn Field (parking at the corners of Hard St. and Stone St., New Haven).

We'll provide tools and garbage bags. Please bring gloves, snacks, water, any important medications, and a helmet (for work at the crag). Service projects may include:

- Trash pickup along roads, trails, the ballfield, river, etc.

- Trail maintenance: clipping overgrowth, spreading woodchips, covering up redundant trails, demarcating climber trails

- Graffiti removal and prevention

- Installing a climbing anchors practice station

Please Note

This is a rain or shine event. If we have to make any changes, we’ll notify you by email and on the RMF Facebook page. Please sign up if you plan to attend, and carpool with other volunteers if possible. We expect the work to wrap up no later than 2pm.

Warning

Trail work can involve strenuous work, heavy lifting, walking in loose, slippery, and uneven terrain. Working outside also involves exposure to environmental hazards like intense heat, sun, weather, and poisonous insects, plans, and animals.
