Earth Day Clean Up at Castle Craig - April 22nd

Celebrate Earth day with the RMF and Meriden Parks and Rec

Join the Ragged Mountain Foundation in collaboration with the City of Meriden Parks and Recreation Department for a joint clean-up effort of Castle Craig.

This Earth Day collaboration will help improve the Castle Craig overlook area and allow better access to the overlooked moderate routes along the base of this once heavily traveled climbing destination. This is just another way for climbers and hikers to give back and improve the climber relationship with our City partners.

We will provide the tools, gloves, and garbage bags needed for both clean-up and trail work. We'll also have both light and heavy-duty tasks.

Time frame:

Meet at the Castle drive @9:30am (gate closest to the caretakers stone hut) for access to the Castle parking lot. The Parks department will open the gate for all volunteers to drive to the top of the road to work around the Castle. The service day will end with a celebration in Hubbard Park as the City hosts a tag sale full of Earth Day festivities. 9:30am-12:00pm.
