This page describes the current status of access to climbing areas in Connecticut. Access to climbing areas can change at any time. If you know of any changes to the areas listed here please send an email to information@raggedmtn.org. When in doubt check with the landowner to get current access information.
OFFICIALLY OPEN AREAS
There are plenty of good climbing possibilities in our small state-- both traprock and other. Why stand in line at Ragged when you could have another crag all to yourself?

New Britain Water Company property: Includes Owl's Lair, Bradley Mountain, Spider Wall, Fox Den, Split Rock and Grond areas.
Privately owned at Ragged Mountain: Small Cliff
Short Mountain, Southington
City of Meriden property: Includes East Peak, West Peak, Cat Hole Pass, South Mountain, Lamentation (except for State Park land), and Chauncey Peak. The City of Meriden has an ordinance that specifically prohibits climbing within city limits.
